Silviu Craciunas had visions of “Aurobin Dogos”

In the early 1960’s, many people had read the book
“The Lost Footsteps” by Silviu Craciunas. He was a Romanian
who was badly tortured in prison by Communists around 1950.
He was thinking of committing suicide when he began to have
visions of an unknown Indian sage whose name he heard as
“Aurobin Dogos” (homonym for Aurobindo Ghosh). This interaction

provided him strength to survive the ordeal. After his release, he
wrote this book. He has written down his life struggle. He had rude,
bloody and life-threatening experiences . In this book, he had
described his interaction with the visions of Sri Aurobindo. When
the Mother was told this story, this is what She said : ” There are
people here who see him and are constantly in contact with him.
They are those who love him sincerely and sufficiently to live
 according to his ideal.”

To Walk through Life—by Sri Aurobindo

by RY Deshpande

SELF posits a model of counselling and communicative action as an instrument in order to stimulate the public sphere. The model aims at supplementing the individual’s struggle for a successful social adjustment with more aspirational inputs so as to help one take an informed and balanced attitude towards life as well as society.
